5Kobo is for real community collections: burial and medical support, weddings, estate levies, association and church dues, and similar group contributions. This policy is part of our Terms of use.

You may not use 5Kobo for

• Fraud, impersonation, or a Collection for a cause that isn't real.
• Money laundering, terrorist financing, or receiving the proceeds of crime.
• Gambling, lotteries, betting pools, or games of chance.
• Lending, investment schemes, or anything promising returns, including pyramid, Ponzi, and "double your money" schemes.
• Selling goods or services, or collecting payment for a business.
• Illegal goods or services, or anything that breaks Nigerian law.
• Harassing people, or posting to group chats where members did not agree to receive Collection updates.
• Getting around identity checks, or opening Collections for someone who couldn't pass one.

What happens if a Collection breaks these rules

We may pause the Collection, hold Withdrawals, close the account, and report it to our account provider and the authorities where the law requires. Money already contributed stays in the Collection account until it can be returned or released lawfully.
